Beat the Monday blues

January 30, 2012 in Your Vintage Wardrobe

Beat the Monday blues by checking out something or someone we love. Here at Your Vintage Life, we feel it is important to share great finds with you all as well as support local business.

So this Monday I introduce the yummiest vintage style shoes…..ever.

Now I used to love shoes. Pretty pointy ones in different colours…with little kitten heels. Glam, sexy and could be worn equally with jeans as with a pencil skirt. Then they went out of fashion. Huge high heels with stacked fronts….now I just cannot walk in them so I refuse to go down that wobbly route. I have since ended up shopping in Clarks. Not exactly cool…but they have some nice styles and they are comfy.

I’m 39 not 69! Honestly, I have gone down the comfy shoe route and I miss the frivolity of going into Office, Pied a Terre or LK Bennett on a Saturday and buying shoes that I just think are cute. (I have the best Jubilee sling backs ever…they must have been from 10 years ago on the last celebration! They are red, white and blue, with a leather bow…they cost so much but I didn’t care. I had to have them because I simply wanted them)

Well, hang onto your slingbacks, that feeling is back.

I introduce you to Miss L Fire. They are a London based company run by Lynsey Hand. They have been creating wonderful footwear for 7 years and sell worldwide both wholesale and online.

They shoes have a definite vintage vibe and will sit perfectly with your 40s and 50s dresses. They are colourful, well made and not so high you cannot walk! My favourite is Mamie…suede and leather in a gorgeous green. They will look fabulous with my 40s leaf dress.

I’m hankering after the Spectators too. Oh, so much choice!

They are currently on sale so grab them while you can. Soon to launch is the new Spring/Summer range….and my gosh we cannot wait.

They also have a lovely collection of modern lucite box bags. I have a great collection of originals (and not usually a fan of repro) but these are something else. Women used to use these on a daily basis, even out shopping. I love the glamour and am so glad Miss L Fire is bringing this look back.

They are definite ones to watch…with plans to sell at the Ink n Iron tattoo convention in LA as well as trade shows in Vegas and Italy, these shoes are really going to be huge (you heard it here first)

So go enjoy the site and grab the sale items before they go. While I’m talking about the website…it is so well designed I’m sure you will agree.

Here are some of my faves. Check out the full range at http://www.misslfire.com
